Stand Against Racism

April 26-29

We would like to invite you to participate with us in our annual Stand Against Racism, taking place April 26-29. We have several events in place during this time, including an actual public stand on Saturday, April 28, at 4:30, followed by a presentation of the movie “Hidden Figures” at the YWCA. A discussion of the movie will take place afterwards, led by students from the Civil Rights Team at Conners-Emerson School.

We would like to ask you if you will hold a Casual Friday event on April 27 to further the work of eliminating racism. We will be happy to talk further with you to tailor this event to your place of business.

It is our hope that participation in these events can elevate our collective awareness of issues that keep us from being a community that strives for racial equity. As a member association of the YWCA USA, it is our mission to eliminate racism and empower women, promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. Someone from YWCA MDI will be in touch with you, or you can call or email us to talk further to help us work towards a community that is more equitable and inclusive.
