Looking for a meaningful way to give back? YWCA Mount Desert Island offers volunteer opportunities to fit any schedule — from ongoing shifts to special events, fundraisers like our annual pie sale and program support. However you'd like to help, we'd love to have you as part of our mission on MDI.

Invest in MDI's future. Your gift supports our Scholarship Program, helping local students pursue careers in mental health and return home to serve the community that raised them.
Connect neighbors to resources. Through our Social Services Program, your support helps community members navigate benefits, housing, and healthcare — with one-on-one, judgment-free help.
Additional Membership Information
A one-year YWCA Mount Desert Island membership is required to enroll in any classes or program unless otherwise noted.
YWCA membership fees are non-refundable.
The YWCA reserves the right to revoke the membership of or deny membership to anyone whose conduct, behavior, or language is inconsistent with the principles of the YWCA Mission.

Your donation helps us:
Keep lodging safe and affordable. Since 1904, YWCA MDI has been the only YWCA in Maine to continue offering safe, affordable housing for women and girls. Your gift helps us keep rooms available, maintained, and within reach for the women who need them most.
Build attainable housing for working families. As MDI's cost of living continues to price out the workforce that keeps our island running, your support helps us grow — developing new housing, like Hamilton Station, for the teachers, caregivers, and workers who deserve a place to call home here.
Provide a lifeline through mutual aid. Through the Benni Mutual Aid Fund, your donation offers women in crisis a "leg up" — covering emergency gaps in rent, utilities, medical bills, and more, no questions asked.
