YWCA MDI Resource Assistance Program
A free, community-driven program helping people access essential services and resources. No one should have to face these systems alone. Whether you're unsure where to turn or just need help getting started, our resource coordinator is here to help.Formerly Linda’s Resource Locker, the YWCA MDI Resource Assistance Program has connected residents of MDI to critical resources since 2022. Services are provided by appointment only at the YWCA MDI office or remotely. These services are free and available to everyone.

What We Offer:
Our YWCA MDI resource coordinator works directly with clients to remove barriers and empower individuals to access the critical resources they need to thrive. Individualized support looks like helping people better understand and navigate the resource landscape and processes, identifing needs and creating an action
plan to access resources, support completing difficult and extensive paperwork processes and general systems navigation support. Specific support we provide includes:❋ Connecting people to resources for
individual and family needs❋ Help accessing essentials
(furniture, heaters, cooling units, firewood)❋ Help preparing child support and
parental rights paperwork for court❋ Referrals and resources for caregivers❋ Referrals to case management, mental
health and other medical resources❋ Help completing forms & applications
(MaineCare, Social Security, etc.)❋ Support at court appearances, doctor's
appointments and meetings❋ Funding to access birth certificates and
other needed documents❋ Transportation access support❋ Connecting people to financial aid
(fuel assistance, scholarships, grants)
and housing resources
